The Connection Between Health And Wealth

health-and-wealthThis is going to be a pretty interesting topic. It seems that many people aren’t aware about the direct connection between great wealth and perfect health. If you look back into history, you would notice that almost every Super Wealthy Business Titan lived a pretty long life. John D. Rockefeller lived to 97 years old. W. Clement Stone lived to 100. David Rockefeller (grandson of John D. Rockefeller) is currently 98 years old and still living. That’s just a few names out of many people. These guys live so long because they understand how important it is to remain in a state of great health. They also understand how it affects their wealth.

First off, taking care of yourself is vitally important because you do want to be around to enjoy your wealth. There’s no fun in accumulating a fortune and then passing away shortly after. For that reason alone, it’s worth keeping your health in order while pursuing wealth.

Here’s the most important reason. When your body is in a state of perfect health, it becomes a lot easier to focus on your goals. When your body is in a state of bad health, it becomes extremely difficult to focus on anything — except how bad you’re feeling. In pursuit of our goals, our main tool is our minds. So we have to make sure we’re keeping our minds clear. A lot of self-help authors give you ways and methods to relax yourself mentally, but hardly any of them talk about how important physical health is. And actually, both are equally important. Bad mental health can lead to bad physical health, just like bad physical health can lead to bad mental health. So, we’re going to work on keeping both our mental and physical health in optimal shape.

When a person’s body is enduring bad physical health, the brain isn’t able to concentrate very strongly. In fact, it seems to be all over the place. Don’t believe me? Try to hold on to a single thought for just 15 seconds. Chances are, you weren’t able to do it. You see, our brain is a lot like a radio station in that it receives and sends out vibrational frequencies. And bad health weakens your brain’s ability to transmit these vibrations. This is because bad health leads to bad feelings, and bad feelings leads to lack of desire. Without desire, the vibrational frequencies transmitted by the brain is very weak. The better off you are physical health wise, the stronger your brain puts out vibrations. Better health leads to less blockage in your brain’s ability to do what it does best. This is pretty interesting, because Napoleon Hill hinted at this same concept in The Law of Success. But the world is a lot different now than it was when Napoleon Hill was living. So, today we’re dealing with a lot more distractions.

The same concept, in which the brain puts out stronger vibrations when the body is in a state of great health, is something that the Super Wealthy has known all along. This is why most of them take very good care of themselves (with rare exception). This is another reason why in today’s world, we have a plethora of pharmaceutical drugs, processed foods, contaminated drinking water, and a lot more damaging elements. All of these things are damaging to our health. Since they’re damaging to our health, they weaken our ability to focus, which also weakens our brain’s power. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I have to tell it like it is. And let’s be for real, in order to avoid those traps, it takes money. Why do you think the wealthy eat at high-end restaurants that serve REAL food while the poor eat at fast food restaurants? Same goes for grocery shopping. The wealthy shop at places that sell REAL food while the poor shop at places that sell a bunch of crap. Yeah, it really is that deep.

I know, I know — this is the point where some of you will begin to ask for solutions. For now, I’ll keep it really simple but I’m gonna expand on this in future articles. In the mean time, I’m going to recommend some viable solutions that can be done right now.

(Disclaimer: Nothing I state is to be taken as a substitution for professional medical advice. The foregoing content is only an expression of what I’ve experienced.)

1. To achieve optimal health, changing your eating habits is a must. You don’t have to go vegan or vegetarian but what I found to work best is the Paleo lifestyle. The Paleo lifestyles consists of consuming only grass-fed meats, wild caught seafood, pastured chickens, organic fruits/vegetables/nuts and good fats. I understand that a lot of people aren’t going to be able to afford organic meats. If that’s the case, the next best thing is to buy meats that have been labeled as “minimally processed.”

On Paleo, one would exclude sugars, starches and dairy products or keep the consumption of those items to a minimum. If you follow this, there’s a good chance that not only will your health improve, but you’ll find yourself losing weight without even trying. Most importantly, your mood will change.

2. Physical exercise is also important. I’m not saying that you have to lift weights and become a body builder, but it does help to do some resistance training to increase your body’s muscle mass. I personally prefer body weight resistance exercises. But what I really want to emphasize is cardiovascular exercise. I typically do 12-15 minutes of cardio per day. Why so little? Because my cardio regimen consists of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). But you don’t HAVE to do HIIT. I do it because my goal is to burn fat.

If you just want to indulge in cardio in order to get your blood flowing and to improve your health, going for a long walk and/or jogging will do. Actually, any type of cardio is acceptable. You don’t need any fancy equipment to do any of what I’ve mentioned. All you need is space and your body. What you will notice after completing your cardio session is a state of relaxation.

3. Next would be internal cleansing. Because of the bad foods that we’ve most likely consumed over the years and the toxic environment in which we live, cleansing ourselves internally is highly encouraged. The piling up of junk in our systems leads to a host of physical ailments, which inevitably leads to a bad mental state. Therefore, cleansing the body internally improves the brain’s ability to perform in the way it should.

The most basic cleanses are the colon cleanse, heavy metal cleanse, liver cleanse and several others. There are two ways that you could go about internal cleansing. One would be through a raw detox diet consisting of fruits, vegetables and juices made from fruits and vegetables. The other method would be to have the cleansing done manually, IE – colonics for the colon. While going to a therapist may be convenient, it isn’t cheap. Whereas, a detox diet may not be convenient, but it is natural and cost-effective.

4. The last health solution I want to discuss is mental exercise — consisting of activities such as meditation, yoga, etc. Sitting down in a quiet place and calming the mind for 10-15 minutes a day is vital. If you can do it for longer, I suggest you go for it. Meditating provides a host of not only physical and mental health benefits but this is usually when a person stumbles upon their greatest ideas.

Meditation allows a person to tap into their inner-consciousness which is connected to an energetic force that we’ll refer to as “Universal Mind” or “Infinite Intelligence.” The masses of people call it god. By going to this source regularly, one not only feels better and more at peace, but their real-world mental skills become sharp. They concentrate better, they arrive at ideas and decisions faster and more efficiently, etc.

Conclusion: There you have it. In today’s fast-paced world of convenience, health is often abandoned in the pursuit of wealth. But we now understand that we’d do better by paying attention to both. Don’t get me wrong, being in a state of good health isn’t a requirement to achieve wealth, but it helps in a major way. As I alluded to earlier, I’ll be posting books and other sources that will expand on the four proponents of health I discussed previously…so stay tuned.
